Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made for "Samuel Cooper, No. 7 Diamond, Pittsburgh."
Cooper was a Grocer in Pittsburgh in the mid-19th century who ordered a lot of stoneware from the potteries of Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
Dating about 1870, this beauty features Top to Bottom Decoration. Five freehand stripes frame three lines of stenciled advertising. Measures 8" tall and 8" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A chips inside the rim (closeup), a 1 1/4" chip on the bottom edge of the right side, and some surface wear. No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
