Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Blue Decorated Jar.
This jar is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).
Circa 1870, this beauty features Four Units of Comma Vining with an Additional Teardrop Below.  The cobalt is rich and shiny!  Stands 8 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition.  Two minor 1/8" nibbles on the base, and some light staining from use.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
