Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Cuspidor Spittoon in the Flower Panels and Arches Pattern.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features Eight Arched Panels Around the Middle, Each Housing a Single Stem Rose. Smaller arches are poised under the rim, each displaying a rose in bloom. Deep cobalt stripe top and bottom and accent on all the roses. The interior of the rim is colored in a diffused blue. Stands 6" tall.
This beauty is discused in the blue and white version in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrence, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 231.
Excellent Condition. Some tiny nibbles on the footer that I suspect are in the making. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
