    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Eaton & Stout."  


    This is the work of Jacob Eaton and Samuel Stout who worked in South River, New Jersey (near Old Bridge) from at least 1826 to around 1842 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 79). 


    This beauty features an Ovoid Form with "1833" Date, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip.  Stands 13" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  A pinhead-size nibble on the spout, a fine line through the center of the handle (closeup), and minor chips and wear around the base.  To hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
