Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Dimuative Salt Glaze Spittoon.
Circa 1860, this beauty hails from Eastern Pennsylvania and is ony 23/4" tall and 5 1/2" wide. It sports all the features of an "adult" one: Concave Top, Rounded Edge, Flared base, top and side drain openings, and cobalt blue decoration. The side opening is outlined in blue with a little tulip to the right, while three leaves chase each other around the sides.
Good Condition. A chip at the top edge in the back (3/4"), two chips and the base (1/2", 3/4), and some minor nibbles around the underside edge. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some glaze imperfections in the back in the making.
