Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by "R. W. Russell."


This is the mark of Ralph W. Russell of Beaver, Pennsylvania.  Russell ran the pottery in Beaver in the 1840's to his death in 1868 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, 143-44).


This beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp, Two Clover-Like Flowers, and Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals.   Stands 12 3/4" tall. 


Excellent Condition.  Two 5/8" chips on the left handle, three 1/4" chips the right handle, and a 1" chip at the base.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
