    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by "R. W. Russell, Beaver, PA."


    This is the mark of Ralph W. Russell of Beaver, Pennsylvania.  Russell ran the pottery in Beaver in the 1840's to his death in 1868 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, 143-44).


    This beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp, Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals, and a Garland of Leaves in Bright Brushed Cobalt.   Stands 10 1/2" tall. 


    Excellent Condition.  Two 1/4" chips and wear on the inner seating ring, a 3/8" chip at the base, and some modest surface wear from use.  That's it!  No top rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
