Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Masterful Large Vase made and signed by "R. and B. Diebboll, Washington, MI."

This is the work of Robert Diebboll and his son, Bruce. Robert founded the Pines End Pottery in 1966 and made pottery until his passing in 2011. The stoneware was made with classic forms and decorations and carried on the American tradition of salt-glaze pottery with stunning success. Diebboll Pottery is highly sought after for its artistry and quality and prices continue to rise.

This beauty features Canted Sides, Carefully Tooled Rim and Base, Pottery Stamp, and a Gorgeous Bird Standing on Ground Cover Facing Two Flowers.  Additional accents on the back.  The decoration is applied with a slip cup in rich cobalt.  Extremely detailed design.  The bird has a distinctive face, striped neck, dotted breast and back, and many separate wing feathers.  Three rows of ground cover.  The floral has plenty of leaves and two blossoms with five petals each.  The decoration recalls mid-19th century pieces from Geddes, New York.  Very solid with gray salt glaze finish.  Stands 10 1/4" tall.

Exceptional Condition.  As made. No damage of any kind.

The best Diebboll vase that I have seen so far!
