This is the work of Robert Diebboll and his son, Bruce. Robert founded the Pines End Pottery in 1966 and made pottery until his passing in 2011. The stoneware was made with classic forms and decorations and carried on the American tradition of salt-glaze pottery with stunning success. Diebboll Pottery is highly sought after for its artistry and quality and prices continue to rise.
This beauty features a Preserve Jar Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Pair of Ducks Surrounded by Ground Cover Executed with a Slip Cup in Strong Cobalt Blue. The decoration is inspired by the 19th century potteries of Norton in Bennington, Vermont and Burger in Rochester, New York. Folk art at its best! Stands 9 3/4" tall.
