Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Masterful 2 Gallon Crock made and signed by "R. and B. Diebboll, Washington, MI."
This is the work of Robert Diebboll and his son, Bruce. Robert founded the Pines End Pottery in 1966 and made pottery until his passing in 2011. The stoneware was made with classic forms and decorations and carried on the American tradition of salt-glaze pottery with stunning success. Diebboll Pottery is highly sought after for its artistry and quality and prices continue to rise.
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Bird on a Stump Decoration. The bird is very elaborate with contrasting dotted breast and long tail feathers. The stump even has ground cover. The decoration was made with a slip cup with cobalt fill in different shades. The decoration is patterned after those from Poughkeepsie and Ellenville, New York during the 1880's. Measures 10 1/4" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. Two narrow 1" chips inside in the making.
