Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "N. A. White & Son, Utica, N.Y."


This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware , pp. 69-70).


The jug was made for "Quinn & Oster, 27 & 29 Charlotte St., Utica, N.Y." 


Dating about 1870, this beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Cobalt Merchant Stencil in Four LInes of Dark Cobalt.  Measures 14 1/2" tall.


Excellent Condition.  Two 1/4" chips on the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
