Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Syrup Jug made and stamped by "Porter & Fraser, West Troy, N.Y."
This piece is the work of Nathan Porter and George Fraser who made pottery together in West Troy (modern Watervliet) from 1846 to 1863 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Double Floral with Curvy Leaves and Petals. Comes with an old wooden spigot. Stands 11 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Staining from use. No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some bubbles and dryness in the cobalt in the making.
