• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by "P. Hermann."


    This is the stamp of Peter Hermann who made pottery on Eager Street in Baltimore from 1850-1872 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 98).  


    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and Three Freehand Clover Flowers around the Top Executed in Bright Cobalt.  Notice the shape of the rim is designed to allow a wax covered paper or cloth to be tied securely around the top.  Strong cobalt on a light gray background clay for maximum contrast.  Stands 10" tall.


    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A kiln imperfection near the bottom in the making.
