Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by the "Palatine Pottery Co."
This pottery operated in Palatine (Now Fairmont) West Virginia in the last quarter of the 19th century (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).
This beauty features the Company Advertising in Three Lines of 3/4" Cobalt Block Letters. Stands 10 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two 1/8" nibbles under the rim overhang. No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A chip under the rim from a visible piece of metal in the clay that popped in the making.
