Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve made and stamped by "P. Mugler & Co., Buffalo, N.Y."  


This is the work of Philip Mugler who worked with Godfrey Heiser from 1848 to 1852 (William C. Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, 2nd ed, p. 144). 


This beauty features a Bold Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and an Equally Bold Brushed Cobalt Tulip.  The tulip has 11 leaves and a blossom with 6 petals.  Stands 11" tall.


Excellent Condition.  A few minor nibbles on the seating ring where a lid would sit, a 1/2" surface ping line under the left handle, a 1/4" chip at the base, and some very light staining.  That's it!  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration  A 1/4" stone ping to the left of the decoration in the making.
