Made around the 1850's, this Jug has the Ovoid Form, Double (Intact) Handles, Impressed Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Swipe and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip. The tulip has 6 leaves and a blossom with 7 petals. Bold cobalt on the tulip and bottom of the handle terminals. Stands a proud 19" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two minor chips on the base (1/4") and some staining in the very bottom 2" in the back. That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A kiln touch on the front and sides (with small indentations on the sides), and a surface drying line on the base in the making.
