Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Orcutt, Humiston & Co., Troy."
This is the mark of Eleazer Orcutt and Horace Humiston who made pottery together in Troy, N.Y. from 1828-1830 (William C. Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, 2nd ed., pp. 190-191).
This beauty features a Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large and Bright Cobalt Tulip. Someone slept at a Holiday Inn before they mixed this cobalt! Stands 13 1/4" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. A dime-sized kiln touch on the left side in the making.
I should look so good at 200!
