Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Bold Little Number: A 1 Gallon Jug stamped "Olean" with Cobalt to Spare!
The decoration is that of Isaac Wands who built the first pottery in Olean and ran it 1852 to 1869 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 73).
This beauty features the "Olean" Stamp and one of Wand's favority decorations, the Bulbed Plant with Three Flowering Stems. Lots and lots of cobalt. Stands 10 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Three chips on the base and two on the underside (1/4" to 1"), and some light staining from use. That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
