Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Sleepy Eye Stoneware Bowl.


It was made by the Weir Stoneware Company of Monmouth, Illinois (1899-1905). This was made as a premium for the Old Sleepy Eye Milling Company of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota (Jim Martin and Bette Cooper, Monmouth-Western Stoneware, pp. 112-113).  


This beauty features a Profile of Old Sleepy Eye in Profile Framed by Armaments with His Name Below on One Side, and Fancy Embossed Scroll Work on the Other Side.  All the details are sharp and crisp and the cobalt highlights done carefully.  Measures 4" tall and 6 1/4" wide across the top.


Excellent Condition.   Two small chips side by side on the rim in the back (3/16", 5/16").   No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration
