Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "New York Stoneware Company, Fort Edward, N.Y."

This company was in production in Fort Edward, New York from 1859-1885.

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Bluebird on a Branch Decoration Executed by a Skilled Hand.  The cobalt is about the best I have ever seen on stoneware by this maker-- Bright, Bold, an Beautiful!  Stands 14" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A small 3/16" nibble on the left side of the spout, and four small stains on the left shoulder.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  In the making: a 3/8" groove in the bottom tail feather where a piece of straw burned off, and some faint firing lines at the base (1/4" to 2").

A handsome jug with strong country appeal.
