Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by the "New York Stoneware Co., Fort Edward, N.Y.."
This company was in production in Fort Edward, New York from 1859-1885.
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Large Freehand Cobalt Bluebird on a Branch Decoration. The decoration was clearly executed by a skilled hand using a slip cup. It is a large bird nicely placed on the crock. Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Good Condition. Four chips inside the rim (1/4" to 3/4"), five chips outside the rim (1/4" to 3/4"), a faint hairline from the rim to the top of the bird's head (closeup), and some staining from use. No base chips or restoration.
