Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "M. Woodruff, Cortland."
This is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland, New York from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Large Freehand Brushed Cobalt Tulip that Covers the Entire Front! The tulip has six leaves and a blossom with four petals in shiny cobalt. Stands 14 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Some staining from use. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
