Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Preserve Jar made and stamped "Lyons."

This is likely the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp 73-74).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number, and a Large Chrysanthemum with Four Leaves and Two Blossoms with 8 Petals Each.   The floral fills the front with bold and shiny cobalt!  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A few 1/8" nibbles on the inner seating ring where a lid would sit, and a couple small and light stains from use.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
