    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare 1 Gallon Butter Crock made for "C. M. Liggett, Dealer in Dry Goods, Groceries, Hardware & C. , Independence, Penn." 


    Independence is near Pittsburgh.  Liggett had this crock made in New Geneva or Greensboro for advertising purposes.


    Circa 1880, this beauty featues the Coveted Butter Crock Form and 6 Lines of Stenciled Advertising.  The stencil is sharp, crisp, and detailed.  Measures 6 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.  


    Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip inside the rim.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Out of round at the top in the making.
