Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 3 Gallon Jar from Virginia.
The decoration indicates that this jar is the work of Keesee & Parr of Richmond, Virginia. David Parr and sons moved from Baltimore to Richmond and potted there in the 1860s and 1870s, at one time with a gentleman named Keesee.
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Tall Cylindral Form with a Large Brushed Cobalt Tulip on Each Side. The tulips have many leaves and a center blossom and are excecuted in rich and shiny cobalt. Stands 14 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Five chips on the outside fo the rim (1/4" to 1"), and 1/" chip on the back of the right handle, No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Kiln touch in one tulip and some glazed over chips in the making.
