Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Jug made for the merchant, "John O'Connor, Wholesale Liquor Dealer, 1814 Carson St., Pittsburgh, PA."
O'Connor had this made in SW PA, probably in Greensboro by Hamilton and Jones or Reppert. Not a name I remember ever seeing on Pittsburgh stoneware before.
Dating around 1880, this beauty features the very Desirable and Uncommon 1/2 Gallon Size, "Bullet" Form, and 6 Lines of Stencilled Advertising to Include a Center Arrow. Crisp and dark cobalt stencil on a light gray clay for fantastic contrast. Stands 9 1/2" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind!
