Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Cream Pot made by "John P. Eberhart, New Geneva, Fayette Co., PA. "

 

John Eberhart made stoneware in New Geneva in the period of around 1875-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 166 168). His stoneware is not commonly seen.

 

This beauty features the Company Advertising Embracing a Rising Sun, with Leaves Framing all Four Corners.  Stenciling is crisp and complete. A freehand capacity number at the bottom completes the decoration.  Measures 9 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.

 

Excellent Condition.  As made. No damage of any kind.  A couple 1/4" stone pings in the making.
