Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar made by "John P. Eberhart & Co., New Geneva, PA. "
John Eberhart made stoneware in New Geneva in the period of around 1875-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 166 168). His stoneware is not commonly seen.
This beauty features Two Top and One Bottom Broad Freehand Stripe that Frame the Company Advertising Embracing an Emblem and the Capacity Number Below Flanked by Leaves. Additional Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals, Stands 12" tall.
Very Good Condition. A tight 3" vertical hairline on the bottom of the right side that wraps under 1" (closeup). That's it! No rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration. Mottled glaze in the making.
