• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware 8" Wax Sealer made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, Pa."  


    James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 


    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Company Advertising in Four Lines of Pretty Cobalt.  The light gray clay and the cobalt stencil make for a strong contrast and visual appeal.  Stands 8" tall.  


    Very Good Condition.  Six small chips on the inner rim (1/8" to 3/8"), a series of chips around the top rim, and a 1/2" chip on the base in the back.  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  In the inside picture. what look like chips at the top is simply unglazed in the making.
