• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware 1 Gallon Wax Sealer made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, Pa."

James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).

Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Company Advertising Framing a Cluster of 14 Grapes Dangling from a Vine!  The stencil is typically found as part of the decoration on larger pieces, so it is unusual and delightful to find so much decoration on a small jar!   Stands 9 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A 3/4" chip on the inner rim, three small chips inside the top rim (1/8" to 1/4"), a 1/2" chip on the right side at the bottom, and a faint 1 1/2" vertical line that wraps under 2" which is so faint it is hard to photograph- see closeup).   No outer rim chips or restoration.
