Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y."
This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and Capacity Number Cradled in a Cobalt Iris
Created with a Slip Cup. Stands 12 3/4" tall
Very Good Condition. Two chips on the spout (1/4", 3/4"), a 1" chip on the front left bottom edge that is mainly in the making and partially glazed over, and a stain run on the right side. No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
