Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "J. Weaver."
This is the work of John Weaver who made stoneware in Beaver, Pennsylvania from the late 1840's to about 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 113).
Dating around 1850, this beauty has an Ovoid Form, Carefully Tooled Rim, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Garland of Fuchsia. The fuchsia has many leaves, and four full blossoms. Stands 12 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A surface-only 5" craze line to the right of the decoration (closeup), and some light staining from use. hat's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
If you like ovoid jars with freehand, this one is a great candidate for your collection.
