Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this marvelous 3 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "J. Weaver."
This is the work of John Weaver who made stoneware in Beaver, Pennsylvania from the late 1840's to about 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 113).
Dating around 1850, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Shape, Tooled Rim, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Floral Garland Filling the Front with Alternating Up and Down Leaves and Tulips. Lavish cobalt. Weaver rarely skimpped on the cobalt! Stands 11 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some scattered light wear and stains. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
