Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this monumental 3 Gallon Stoneware Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "J. Stadden, Summit Co., O."

This is the mark of J. Stadden who was either a potter or merchant in Ohio in the 1850's (See F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware , pp. 113).

Made around the 1850's, this jug has an Early Ovoid Shape, Pottery Stamp, and a Bold Cobalt Sideways Tulip all the Way Across the Front.  Stands 16 1/2" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Some shallow chipping on the spout, wear in places around the middle, and some minor staining.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.

One of the only Stadden pieces that I have ever seen or had to offer.
