Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this noted 6 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "J. H. Waggoner & Co., Beaver PA."

This company worked in Beaver in the 1870's and 1880's.  Very few signed pieces by this pottery exist (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 138).  This exact piece is pictured in Shaltenbrand's book in his discussion of Beaver, Pennsylvania stoneware (see picture above).

This noted piece of stoneware has a Thick and Tooled Rim, Lug Handles Accented with Cobalt, and a Fancy Stenciled Label with Center Oval where the Company Advertising Surrounds and Eagle, and where the Oval is Framed by Fancy Brackets.  Stands 16 1/2" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A 3/8" chip inside the rim. That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A 2" chip on the underside at the edge, and a faint 4" surface-only firing line on the left side bottom that goes across the base-- both in the making.
