• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful and uncommon 8" Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "J. Eneix, New Geneva, PA. "

This is the mark of James Eneix who made stoneware in New Geneva for the brief period of 1874-1876 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 165).

This beauty features the Company Name and Address Stenciled Around a Fancy Leaf Garland.  All the decoration is executed in bold and dark cobalt blue.  Stands 8" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A couple minor 1/8" nibble inside the top rim, a single 1 1/2" surface-only ping line on the base of the left side (closeup), and some spots of glaze wear and light staining from use. That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.

Eneix stoneware is not commonly seen due to the brief period of manufacture.
