    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "J. & E. Norton, Bennington, VT."

     

    This is the mark of Julius Norton and his cousin, Edward Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1850-1859 ( William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 41-44).

     

    This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Bird on a Branch Decoration in Brillliant Cobalt Blue.  You might need sunglasses for this one!  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  Small kiln touch on the front bottom in the making.  Let's just say "Mint"!
