    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "J. & E. Norton, Bennington, VT."


    This is the mark of Julius Norton and his cousin, Edward Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1850-1859 ( William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 41-44).


    This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Bird on a Branch Decoation in Brillliant Cobalt Blue.  Stands 11 1/2" tall.


    Excellent Condition.   Some wear inside the spout from use with a stopper.  That's it!  No  chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
