    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jar made by "J. Eneix, New Geneva, PA. "


    This is the work of James Eneix who made stoneware in New Geneva for the brief period of 1874-1876 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 165). His stoneware is not commonly seen due to the brief period of manufacture, especially in this larger size.


    This beauty features a Broad Top Stripe, the Company Advertising Surrounding a Fancy PInwheel Decoration, and the Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves.    Additional Cobalt accents at the handle terminals.  Stands 13 1/2" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  A 3/8" chip on the underside of the right handle, a 1" surface ping on the underside at the edge, and water glass staining from use as shown.  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
