    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Syrup Jug made and stamped by "J. A. and C. W. Underwood, Fort Edward, N.Y."  This partnership lasted from 1865-1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).


    This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Handsome Bird on a Branch Decoration.   Stands 14 1/4" tall. 


    Excellent Condition.  A shallow 1/2" chip on the top of the rim on the left side.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Some fine bubbling in the thicker parts of the cobalt in the making.
