Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for the merchant, "I. H. Plecker, Staunton, VA."

 

The jar was made in one of the potteries of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

 

Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tapered Wax Sealer Form with Two Lines of Stenciled Advertising, with an Arrow Between the Lines and Leaves Framing the Capacity Number.

 

Excellent Condition.  Six small and thin chips inside the inner rim (1/8" to 1/4'), and one chip inside the top rim (1/2").  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
