    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.  

    This cuspidor s easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9). 
    Circa 1860, this beauty features Five Leaves Around the Top Edge with Four Dangling Flowers in Between.  Measures 4 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide aross the bottom. 


    Excellent Condition.  Three short surface craze lines on one side (closeup), and a 1/2" chip in the underside near the edge.  That's it! No top chips, hairines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
