Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 5 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Haxstun, Ottman & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."

This is the stamp of Andrew K. Haxstun and William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company from 1867-1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 68).

This beauty sports a the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Large Bird on a Branch Looking to the Left that makes His Presence Known!  The decoration is executed in a pretty brushed cobalt.  Measures 11" tall and wide across the top.

Excellent Condition.  Some traces of water glass staining inside.  That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, outer stains, or restoration.   A small stone ping on the bird's breast and some tiny bubbles in the thicker parts of the cobalt in the making.
