    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Haxstun, Ottman & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."


    This is the stamp of Andrew K. Haxstun and William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company from 1867-1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).


    This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Bird Holding a Butterfly!  Not a common decoration any stoneware.  Apparently the decorator got a little creative the day this was decoration.   Stands 14 1/4" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  A couple 1/8" nibbles on the spout, some staining on the left side, and some glaze flakes on the bottom of the left side.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Surface drying lines around the upper handle terminal in the making.
