    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by Hamilton and Jones.  


    This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 


    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Form, and the Company Advertising in an Arch Above a Double Rose.  The rose has two blossoms and three large leaves.  Hamilton and Jones mastered the art of rose decoration.   Stands 8 1/2" tall.  


    Very Good Condition.  Minor nibbles on the inner rim, chips around the inside of the top rim, and some staining from use.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
