Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 Gallon Jar made by "Hamilton & Jones, Greensboro, PA."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Dating around 1880, this beauty features Three Stripes at the Top and One at the Bottom that Frame the Company Advertising Surrounding a Pinwheel Decoration. The capacity number flanked by flowers adorns the bottom. Light gray clay and dark cobalt for strong contrast. Stands 17 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some staining from use. No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
