Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar made by "Hamilton & Jones, Greensboro, PA."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Tooled Rim Enhanced by Two Cobalt Stripes at the Top, the Company Advertising Surrounding Two Roses in the Middle, and the Freehand Capacity Number Flanked by Dashes and Underscored by a Stripe at the Bottom. Stands 12" tall.
Excellent Condition. A nearly invisible 1 1/2" hairline from the rim that stops at the shoulder molding (closeup). That's it! No rim or base chips, cracks, stains. or restoration.
