    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 7/8" Stovepipe Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for "H. F. Behrens, Grocer, 2217 & 2219 Market Street, Wheeling, W. VA. South Branch 3601 Jacob St."


    Behrens was a merchant in Wheeling who had this crock made by the potteries in Southwestern, Pennsylvania (probably Greensboro).


    Dating around 1880, this beauty sports the Coveted Small Size, Stovepipe Shape, Wax Sealer Top, and 7 Lines of Stenciled Advertising in Crisp Lettering.  Measures 6 7/8."


    Excellent Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A hot spot on the front far right with three evenly spaced chips, and slightly out-of-round from the kiln.
