    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made for "H. F. Behrens, Grocer, 2217 & 2219 Market Street, Wheeling, W. VA. South Branch 3601 Jacob St."


    Behrens was a merchant in Wheeling who had this crock made by the potteries in Southwestern, Pennsylvania (probably Greensboro).


    Dating around 1880, this beauty Sports 2 Cobalt Lines at the Top and One at the Bottom that frame 7 Lines of Stenciled Advertising in Crisp Lettering, and the Capacity Number Flanked by Dashes.  Additional cobalt at the handle terminals.  Measure 11 1/4" tall and 9 3/4" wide across the top.


    Excellent Condition.  A 1" chip to the front of the right handle, and some small and scattered stains.  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
