• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 1/2 Gallon Ovoid Jug Made and Stamped by "Goodwin & Webster."


    This is the work of Horace Goodwin and Mack Webster who ran the pottery in Hartford from 1831-1840 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 60-61).


    This beauty features the Early Ovoid Form with Reeded Neck, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Small 1/2 Gallon Size.  Stands 10 1/4" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the back of the spout, a 1/4" chip on the left side middle, and some staining from use.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A narrow 1/2" chip on the top of the handle in the making.
